My Best Self ~ My Best Year ~ My Best Life

The word busy defines most of our lives. I mean, really – can you believe that January is already half over? As women, we tend to take care of everyone else and leave ourselves for last. I love working with groups, but making a weekly commitment for an 8-10 week group seems to be too much for most of us these days. Groups are so powerful. We see ourselves mirrored in each other and learn that we are not alone. We learn from each others experiences and share our celebrations and our heartaches. So I decided to take the ‘ My Best Self ‘ Program, add more content, and spread it out over a year. That means we would only meet once a month for 3-4 hours instead of weekly. Sounds a lot more doable, right?
We will start by taking stock of where we are and building a firm foundation. Look at what we are tolerating, where we need boundaries and making a commitment to stop shoulding on ourselves. We learn to really honor and love ourselves while navigating a world that tries its hardest to define us. Then we ask ourselves and answer the hard questions – Who am I and What do I really want?
Are ready to make this the Year of the Self?

P.S. I put this exercise in my last newsletter, but in case you missed it I thought I would include it here – Get out a piece of paper and ask yourself the question ” What do I really want?”. Then ask yourself “Why do I want that?”. Keep asking yourself “Why” for each subsequent answer until you get to the REAL – “What do I really want?”. (If you can’t get to the real What by yourself, and really want to know – join my group!). You will know when you get there when the answer brings up emotions and an overwhelming feeling in the pit of your stomach.
Then take a deep breath and say out lout “What I really want is _________.
